1. Scope and age requirements

These public standards apply to every AuPair Family profile, photo, message, report, meeting arranged through the service and other use of the app. AuPair Family is a matching and communication service; it is not an au pair agency, employer, background-check provider or emergency service.

The current app is designed for people aged 16 or older, not children under 16. A person aged 16 or 17, or otherwise not legally an adult where they live, may use it only with the permission and appropriate supervision of a parent or legal guardian and where local law allows it. A higher minimum age set by local law or an au pair programme always applies.

2. Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation

AuPair Family strictly prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Never create, upload, request, possess, share, distribute, promote or facilitate CSAM or sexual content involving a person under 18. This includes real, altered, computer-generated or self-generated material.

Grooming, sextortion, sexual solicitation or sexualisation of minors, trafficking, exploitation and attempts to move a child or vulnerable person into private communications for abuse are prohibited. Do not expose a child’s location, routine, school, health or identity information in a profile or message unless it is strictly necessary for a lawful arrangement and safe to share.

Swisswise GmbH may remove or restrict material, preserve limited evidence and suspend or close accounts. Confirmed CSAM will be reported to the competent regional or national authority as required by applicable law.

3. Other prohibited conduct

Do not use AuPair Family to harm, deceive, pressure or exploit another person. Prohibited conduct includes:

  • Trafficking, forced labour, coercion, threats, blackmail or withholding identity or travel documents.
  • Harassment, stalking, violence, hate, discrimination or sexual content and unwanted sexual contact.
  • False identities, impersonation, misleading profiles, fake references or attempts to evade a restriction.
  • Fraud, advance-fee scams, money laundering or pressure to pay by gift card, cryptocurrency or another hard-to-recover method.
  • Publishing another person’s private information, including a child’s image, without a lawful basis and appropriate permission.

4. Report and block

Use its Report and Block controls on the relevant profile or conversation. Blocking limits further contact; reporting sends the selected concern and a limited evidence snapshot for review. You can also report a concern through the contact form with enough detail to identify the account, message or event.

Use the contact form to reach the AuPair Family child-safety contact. Identify your message as a child-safety concern. Do not download, copy, screenshot or forward suspected CSAM to us. Instead, identify where it appears and provide only the information needed to locate it.

5. Moderation and enforcement

Swisswise GmbH reviews reports using the available context and may remove content, limit features, preserve limited evidence, warn a user, suspend or close an account, or notify competent authorities where required. Temporary protective action may be taken before a review is complete when a person may be at risk.

No moderation system can prevent every harmful interaction. A report does not guarantee a particular outcome, and privacy, safety or legal obligations may limit the details we can share.

6. Appeals

If your content or account has been restricted, use the contact form and identify your message as an appeal, using the account email address as your reply address, where possible. Identify the decision and explain why it should be changed. Swisswise GmbH will review the available context but may withhold information that could expose a reporter, a child, safety controls or an investigation.

7. Emergencies and safer arrangements

AuPair Family support is not an emergency service and is not monitored as an emergency channel. If someone is in immediate danger or a crime may be in progress, contact local emergency services or police first, then report the account when it is safe to do so.

Reporting, blocking and profile information do not verify a person’s identity or suitability. Before agreeing to travel, host, work or pay, use live video calls, check references and official requirements, agree duties and costs in writing, tell a trusted person, and never pay or hand over documents under pressure.
