User guide
From your first profile to a conversation about living together: here is how to use AuPair Family and what to check before making arrangements.
Describe yourself and your plans
Choose whether you are an au pair or a host family. Add your languages, dates and preferences, and describe the experience or help you can offer. Be clear about your everyday routine and expectations. Update your profile when your plans change.
Compare profiles before making contact
Use the available filters to look for suitable countries, languages and preferences. Open a profile to read the details before sending a request. Profiles can be browsed before contact is accepted. Saving a profile does not send that person a contact request.
Introduce yourself with a request
Send a short introduction explaining why you would like to talk. Read incoming requests before deciding whether to accept or decline. The chat opens once a contact request is accepted. You do not have to accept a request or continue a conversation.
Choose what you share
As an au pair, review whether your photo is visible in profile searches. Other profile details can still be visible; a hidden photo does not hide the whole profile. The connection to our servers is encrypted. A document-number format check does not verify someone’s identity.
Discuss the stay in detail
Talk about childcare tasks, hours, accommodation, time off and dates. Arrange a video call, ask for references and check each other’s identity before agreeing to a stay. Consult the official rules for the destination country. Keep identity documents and advance payments out of early conversations.
Host countryManage unwanted contact and your account
Use blocking and reporting if a profile or conversation concerns you. Contact support if you need help with the app. Manage any subscription in your app-store account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription; use the separate account deletion help to remove your account.
